There is a balance in Christian Scripture: that on the one hand, the Bible speaks of God’s Fatherly displeasure when His children disobey,  and on the other hand, there is God’s wrath that is directed toward those that disobey Him who are not His children. Christians need to keep those two things separate. While the message of Jesus’ cross is that He fully drank the cup of God’s wrath to spare His children that unspeakable punishment, it is still possible for His children to grieve Him.
